“Letting Go of Expectations & Craving” - Joseph Goldstein
Our desires don’t deliver on their promise of happiness. Pleasant feelings come for a time, but as we all know, these pleasant feelings are impermanent and disappearing… it’s like quenching our thirst with salt water.
This doesn’t mean we should not enjoy ourselves… it’s just to understand the very impermanent nature of this enjoyment. We need to consider how much of our energy we want to invest in the endless pursuit of it…. What are we dedicating our lives to?
Dharma practice opens our understanding to much greater happiness in our lives.
